PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

Player conduct both on and off the field is expected to be exemplary.

DRUGS AND ALCOHOL 

The Royals have a ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ALCOHOL AND DRUG USE INCLUDING PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS OR SUPPLEMENTS WHILE WITH THE TEAM. Violation of this rule will result in immediate suspension from the team until the Club has sufficient time to review. Dismissal and forfeiture of participation fees may result from such an offence.

REPRESENTING THE ORGANIZATION

Representing the North Island Royals should be considered a privilege. You are representing not only the organization, but also our sponsors, your communities, the league, and most importantly, yourself.

  • Dress appropriately and have pride in the uniform.
  • Start each game with a clean uniform and wear it properly - shirts tucked in; and hats worn forward.
  • Be in full uniform for all camps, clinics, and team functions.
  • Be a positive role model for younger players and be receptive of them.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Success at this level demands proactive time management and communication. Playing for the Royals requires taking responsibility for prioritizing commitments to family, education and athletic development. Players are expected to become accountable to themselves, their coaches and teammates. Participation at all team functions including, practices, field preparation, games, clinics, photos sessions and fundraisers is an expectation.

  • Be warmed up, in uniform (practice tops) and ready for practice prior to specified start times.
  • Communicate and provide justification for any expected absence or delay in advance to your Coach.
  • Address coaches as Coach & name (unless otherwise specified) and be respectful in your correspondence.

SPORTSMANSHIP

  • Profanity will not be tolerated.
  • Win and lose with class.
  • Run on and off the field - Play with enthusiasm, focus, and intensity.
  • Always respect your opposition and all officials - regardless of their level of competence.
  • Cooperate with coaches and be supportive of teammates.
  • Participate in pre- and post-game/practice field preparation.
  • During games, when not on field or in the bullpen players are to BE INSIDE THE DUGOUT at ALL FIELDS
