About Us
Philosophy
Our philosophy has evolved since the start of the Royals program in 1995 and we will continue to adjust and make changes as required. In short:
- We strive to give players who have made a serious commitment to baseball an opportunity todevelop their skills against the best competition available, primarily in British Columbia;
- We wish to field competitive teams with a majority of players from Grades 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 who reside in the geographic area of Nanoose Bay, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Port Alberni, Bowser, Deep Bay, Royston, Cumberland, Courtenay, Comox, Powell River, Campbell River, Port McNeil, Port Hardy, and North;
- We will attempt to develop players capable of playing in regional, provincial and national tournaments, i.e.: Summer Games, BC Selects, Jr. National Team;
- We will strive to give players the necessary development so that they are capable of competing at the next level - specifically college or university baseball;
- We will always stress the importance of school and putting your best effort forward in the classroom.You cannot play baseball at the college level if you are academically ineligible;
- We will provide as much informed opinion as possible to both players and parents in regard to future opportunities in baseball;
- We will never sacrifice the development of a player, or players, in order to win games;
- We expect commitment from the players to the Royals program. Family and school considerations, however, take priority over baseball and we expect players to manage their time in order to meet all of their commitments and maximize time at the field;
- We will provide an environment where players develop as people by interacting positively with new teammates and coaches;
- We will strive to create an enthusiasm for and promote the game of baseball in our community;
- We will strive to impart our knowledge and enthusiasm for the game throughout our communities to younger players - future Royals;
- We will do all of the above in an atmosphere that is both enjoyable and rewarding for all players,coaches, parents and supporters;
